Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain federal cybersecurity protocols across classified and unclassified systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government networks
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection
- Develop incident response plans and lead breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and DHS security frameworks
- Coordinate with federal agencies on cybersecurity initiatives and threat intelligence sharing
- Train personnel on security best practices and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of IT security experience with federal systems
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification required
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA compliance standards
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS security clearance (Tier 3/4)
- Strong analytical skills for threat assessment and incident response
- Experience with cloud security architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred
