Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor network security systems including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and lead cybersecurity breach mitigation
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and DHS security standards
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on threat intelligence sharing
- Manage security access controls and user authentication systems
- Document security procedures and maintain compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (required)
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal IT security roles
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls framework
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong analytical skills for threat detection and response
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability Determination
