Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain federal IT security protocols across classified systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government networks
- Monitor security alerts and respond to cybersecurity incidents within SLAs
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and federal IT security regulations
- Develop security awareness training programs for federal employees
- Collaborate with DHS leadership on strategic security initiatives
- Document security procedures and maintain compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on IT security experience in government/military
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
- Strong knowledge of federal IT frameworks (NIST 800-53, FISMA)
- Experience with Windows/Linux system hardening and network security
