Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record systems (EHR) to ensure HIPAA compliance
- Implement cybersecurity protocols for VA networks and sensitive veteran data
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop IT solutions for clinical workflows
- Provide technical support for VA telehealth infrastructure
- Conduct system testing and documentation for federal IT projects
- Coordinate with federal IT vendors for hardware/software implementations
- Train staff on new IT systems and security best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT systems or healthcare IT
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain Secret clearance
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ or CISSP preferred
- Experience with VA-specific systems (VistA, Cerner) highly valued
- Strong knowledge of FISMA and NIST cybersecurity frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
