Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Veterans Health Information Systems (VistA) infrastructure
- Implement cybersecurity protocols for protected health data (PHI)
- Coordinate IT system upgrades and compliance with federal regulations (FISMA, HIPAA)
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for clinical applications
- Collaborate with VA network engineering teams on infrastructure projects
- Document IT processes and maintain system documentation
- Lead disaster recovery planning and testing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years experience with federal IT systems (VA/DOD/DoE preferred)
- Active Security+ CE certification or equivalent
- Expertise in Windows Server administration and virtualization
- Familiarity with VA VistA systems or EHR platforms
- Experience with FedRAMP compliance frameworks
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
