Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize VA network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for electronic health record systems (VistA) and clinical applications
- Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability assessments and compliance with FedRAMP standards
- Lead system migrations and upgrades while maintaining 99.9% uptime for critical veteran services
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans ensuring continuity of care during emergencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT solutions aligned with VA strategic goals
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years experience with federal IT systems and healthcare IT infrastructure
- CompTIA Security+ and/or CISSP certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data protection standards
- Experience with VMWare, Active Directory, and enterprise storage solutions
