Role Overview:
As a Federal IT Specialist, you will be the frontline defender of our client's information systems. You will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive government data while maintaining strict compliance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security breaches and vulnerabilities using SIEM tools.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols in strict compliance with NIST and federal standards.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and system hardening.
- Manage user access controls, identity management, and authentication systems (Active Directory).
- Respond to and mitigate cybersecurity incidents in real-time, following established incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless IT operations and system upgrades.
- Document technical configurations and security policies for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal IT, cybersecurity, or network administration.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols (Cisco/Juniper).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
