Key Responsibilities
As a Federal IT Specialist on our weekend team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our client's IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor federal servers, network traffic, and applications to detect anomalies or potential security breaches.
- Maintenance Operations: Execute routine patch management, software installations, and hardware troubleshooting during the weekend maintenance window.
- Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by federal personnel, ensuring rapid turnaround times to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, incidents, and changes made to the system environment.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to strict federal cybersecurity protocols (e.g., NIST, CUI) and ensure all systems are compliant with government standards.
- Support Coordination: Communicate effectively with on-call support teams during business hours to resolve complex issues initiated on weekends.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Must possess an active Secret or Top Secret clearance (or be eligible for clearance).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic scripting (PowerShell or Bash).
- Availability: Must be available to work a consistent weekend shift schedule (e.g., Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Sunday).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with stakeholders and technical teams.
