We are seeking a highly skilled Federal Information Technology Specialist to support critical operations in Los Angeles. This is a mission-critical role requiring weekend shift coverage to ensure the continuity of IT services for the Department of Veterans Affairs. What You’ll Do:
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for federal staff during off-hours.
- Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, servers, and security systems on weekends.
- Ensure compliance with federal security regulations and IT policies.
- Perform hardware installations, software deployments, and system backups.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and technical procedures accurately.
- Collaborate with the central IT team to resolve complex technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for federal employees and systems during weekend operations.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
- Perform hardware installations, software updates, and troubleshooting of workstations and servers.
- Respond to and resolve IT service tickets and emergency incidents with minimal supervision.
- Document all technical procedures, incidents, and resolutions in the Federal IT ticketing system.
- Conduct regular security audits and data backups to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Current or eligibility to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 suite.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts, including holidays, as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to federal stakeholders.
