The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our federal IT systems during off-peak hours, ensuring data security, and providing technical support for critical operations.
Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Perform routine server maintenance, patch management, and system updates on weekends to minimize downtime.
- Security Monitoring: Monitor network traffic and security alerts 24/7 to prevent unauthorized access to federal data.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported during weekend operations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities and system changes.
- Data Backup: Execute nightly and weekend data backups to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal security protocols and IT policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a federal security clearance.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, networking, or systems administration.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CISSP preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work exclusively on weekends (Friday 5 PM - Monday 8 AM).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting technical status.
