Responsibilities
- Monitor federal network infrastructure, servers, and workstations during the night shift to ensure 99.9% operational uptime.
- Perform proactive security assessments, patch management, and system updates to comply with federal security standards (FISMA/NIST).
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network connectivity issues reported by federal employees.
- Document all system incidents, maintenance activities, and resolutions in compliance with ITIL and federal reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with day-shift engineering teams to coordinate handovers and ensure seamless service continuity.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of remote access solutions (VPN, RDP) for secure telework support.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one; Top Secret/SCI preferred for advanced roles.
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT support, network administration, or system engineering.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating night shifts (typically 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM or 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and common office productivity software.
- Familiarity with federal IT compliance frameworks and documentation practices.
