Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain complex federal IT networks during night hours to ensure 24/7 operational continuity.
- Execute security patches and vulnerability assessments on federal systems outside of standard business hours.
- Respond to and resolve critical Level 2/3 incidents reported by the day shift support team.
- Document all system changes, incidents, and resolutions in accordance with federal compliance standards (NIST/FISMA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure improvements and scalability solutions.
- Ensure strict adherence to IT security protocols and physical access controls in secure facilities.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering or system administration within a federal or government-contracted environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent military experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Cisco routing/switching, firewalls (Check Point/Palo Alto), and VPN technologies.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work the rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical status to leadership.
