Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration of federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS, ensuring strict adherence to federal regulations.
- Analyze complex retirement scenarios and employment histories to calculate accurate pension benefits.
- Process retirement applications, service credit requests, and benefit adjustments with a high degree of precision.
- Provide expert guidance and consultative support to federal employees regarding eligibility, vesting, and retirement options.
- Conduct internal audits and data quality checks to ensure the integrity of pension records and prevent fraud.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and Legal, to resolve complex beneficiary issues.
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting federal retirement policies and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or actuarial science.
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and Social Security regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience in public speaking or client-facing roles is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized government benefits software (e.g., HRIS systems).
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
