Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate calculation and processing of federal pension benefits for retiring employees.
- Review and verify retirement applications to ensure strict adherence to federal laws and OPM guidelines.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to federal employees regarding their pension eligibility, survivor benefits, and healthcare options.
- Maintain precise records of pension contributions, service years, and payout calculations in secure government systems.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless benefit integration.
- Conduct regular audits of pension files to identify areas for process improvement and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, retirement planning, or a related financial role.
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and OPM regulations.
- Proficiency in government financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Access).
