Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate federal pension benefits for current and retiring employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations.
- Advise federal employees on eligibility requirements and retirement options under FERS and CSRS plans.
- Manage the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) enrollments and withdrawals with strict adherence to federal guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records to ensure full compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports for management and government oversight bodies regarding pension fund status.
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex retirement discrepancies and answer client inquiries.
- Stay updated on changes in federal legislation and retirement policy to ensure our practices remain current.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal retirement administration, benefits analysis, or actuarial science.
- Deep knowledge of FERS, CSRS, and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Strong understanding of ERISA laws and federal government regulations regarding pension plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for client consultations.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
