Responsibilities
- Process and review pension benefit claims and retirement applications with high accuracy during night shift operations.
- Assist federal retirees and beneficiaries via phone and secure messaging systems regarding pension plan eligibility and disbursements.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal guidelines and Department of Labor regulations regarding pension administration.
- Maintain and update retirement records in the federal database, auditing data for errors or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to resolve complex benefit inquiries and escalate critical issues appropriately.
- Conduct internal training sessions on new pension policy updates and procedural changes.
- Participate in security drills and maintain compliance with facility access protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent federal experience).
- Experience working with government pension plans, retirement systems, or federal benefits administration is highly preferred.
- Must be available to work full-time night shifts (e.g., 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM or 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain data integrity under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with retirees.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable background clearance for federal employment.
- Familiarity with federal record-keeping systems and compliance software.
