Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans with meticulous attention to regulatory compliance (ERISA, IRS, OPM)
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and disbursements
- Conduct complex pension plan audits and financial reporting
- Advise federal employees on retirement planning, survivor benefits, and plan provisions
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on pension policy implementation
- Manage stakeholder communications including retirees, agencies, and third-party administrators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or federal benefits experience
- Expert knowledge of federal retirement systems (CSRS, FERS) and pension regulations
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, or CPA) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and federal HR systems
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
