Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including FERS, TSP, and CSRS with 100% compliance accuracy
- Process retirement applications, benefit elections, and pension adjustments within strict federal deadlines
- Provide expert guidance to employees on pension regulations, survivor benefits, and retirement planning strategies
- Conduct regular audits of pension records and resolve discrepancies through meticulous documentation
- Collaborate with OPM and Treasury to implement new pension legislation and policy updates
- Develop training materials for HR staff on pension administration best practices
- Manage sensitive employee data using HRIS systems with strict adherence to privacy regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience with federal employee benefits systems (FERS/CSRS/TSP)
- Professional certification (SHRM-SCP, CEBS, or similar) preferred
- Expert knowledge of 5 U.S.C. Chapter 83 and OPM pension regulations
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., NSPS, HRS) and Excel data analysis
- Ability to interpret complex federal statutes and communicate implications to non-technical stakeholders
- Active U.S. security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
