Responsibilities
- Administer complex federal pension plans including CSRS, FERS, and TSP systems
- Process retirement claims with 99.8% accuracy per SSA standards
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement options and survivor benefits
- Ensure compliance with OPM regulations and annual reporting requirements
- Develop training materials for federal agencies on pension plan changes
- Collaborate with regional offices to resolve complex pension discrepancies
- Lead system optimization projects for pension administration workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in federal benefits administration or pension systems
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CBP) or equivalent knowledge
- Expertise in federal retirement regulations (5 CFR 838, 841)
- Advanced proficiency in SSA systems (e.g., MAXIS, BENEFITS)
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate clearly to diverse audiences
- US citizenship and background eligibility for federal employment
