As a key member of our Benefits Administration team, you'll manage complex pension cases, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional service to federal employees and veterans. This position combines financial expertise with public service in one of America's most rewarding career paths.
Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including CSRS and FERS retirement systems
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefits with 99% accuracy
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to OPM regulations
- Provide consultation to federal employees on pension options and retirement planning
- Maintain confidential pension records using VA's secure systems
- Collaborate with HR teams on employee benefits transitions
- Prepare detailed benefit summaries and retirement projections
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or federal benefits experience
- Certified Federal Benefits Officer (CFBO) or SHRM-SCP designation preferred
- Proficiency in federal pension systems (e.g., EBIS, OPM systems)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to interpret complex federal regulations (5 CFR, 38 U.S.C.)
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
