Responsibilities
- Analyze complex federal pension data to determine eligibility and calculate accurate retirement benefits for active and retiring employees.
- Provide comprehensive counseling to federal employees regarding pension plan options, survivor benefits, and medical insurance coordination.
- Ensure strict adherence to Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines and Department of Labor regulations regarding pension administration.
- Process and review retirement applications and related documentation with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR specialists and actuaries to resolve complex pension discrepancies and benefit disputes.
- Stay updated on changes in federal retirement laws and communicate these changes to staff and applicants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal pension administration, FERS/CSRS processing, or retirement benefits analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of OPM retirement systems, federal regulations, and tax laws related to pensions.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for advising clients and drafting reports.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for federal employment.
