Responsibilities
- Conduct Pension Calculations: Perform accurate computations for federal retirement benefits based on complex federal regulations and individual service records.
- Member Inquiries: Provide exceptional customer service to federal employees via phone and email, addressing questions regarding pension eligibility, vesting, and payouts.
- Data Management: Maintain and update confidential pension records in secure government databases, ensuring 100% data integrity and compliance.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all processing activities adhere to strict federal laws, OPM guidelines, and agency policies.
- Process Improvement: Assist in identifying inefficiencies in current workflows and propose solutions to improve departmental productivity.
- Special Projects: Support senior analysts in special audits and the preparation of retirement packages for federal officers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is highly preferred; High School diploma with significant relevant experience is acceptable.
- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to work with high precision and manage sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-experts.
