Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and calculation of federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS components.
- Conduct thorough reviews of employee records to ensure accurate determination of retirement eligibility and benefit amounts.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation to federal employees regarding pension vesting, survivor benefits, and deferred retirement options.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, OPM guidelines, and internal agency policies.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve complex pension discrepancies and benefit claims.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on retirement trends and plan performance for executive leadership.
- Manage incoming inquiries regarding pension projections and annuity calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or retirement plan consulting.
- Strong understanding of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and government payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in using federal HRIS systems and financial modeling software.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation for federal employment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
