Responsibilities
- Analyze pension calculations for Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) retirees to ensure accuracy and compliance with OPM regulations.
- Conduct in-depth research and consultation regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and health insurance continuation.
- Review and process a high volume of retirement applications and correspondence with precision and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to resolve complex eligibility issues and pension discrepancies.
- Provide clear, written responses to inquiries regarding leave, service computation dates, and retirement estimates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal laws, executive orders, and agency policies affecting pension administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. (Equivalent experience may be considered).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, pension processing, or federal human resources.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS or pension management software.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to individual cases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain a Public Trust clearance.
