Responsibilities
- Process and review pension and retirement benefit applications with a high degree of accuracy and adherence to federal guidelines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with beneficiaries via phone and correspondence to explain pension status and requirements.
- Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in pension data and benefit calculations.
- Update and maintain accurate beneficiary records in secure federal databases (e.g., eOversight, FAMIS).
- Collaborate with regional offices and field teams to ensure compliance with the Social Security Act and Treasury regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on pension processing metrics and assist in quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations to the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry systems.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening are mandatory.
- Basic understanding of government regulations or pension structures is highly preferred.
