Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Calculations: Accurately calculate and project retirement benefits for federal employees using FERS, CSRS, and CSRS Offset systems.
- Employee Counseling: Conduct one-on-one consultations to explain retirement options, survivor benefits, and healthcare coverage.
- Compliance Auditing: Ensure all pension plans and benefit packages adhere to strict OPM (Office of Personnel Management) and ERISA guidelines.
- Documentation: Prepare and review retirement applications, COBRA notices, and eligibility letters with 100% accuracy.
- System Management: Utilize HRIS software (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) to update employee records and track pension status.
- Outreach: Present retirement planning seminars to federal agencies and employee groups in the Houston area.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in federal benefits administration or private pension management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with federal payroll systems and retirement modeling software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) regulations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site in Houston, TX.
