Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS, ensuring accurate calculations and timely disbursements.
- Conduct comprehensive benefits counseling sessions for federal employees regarding retirement eligibility and options.
- Review and process retirement applications and related documentation with strict adherence to federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR teams and external agencies to resolve complex pension inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date, secure records of employee pension contributions and service history.
- Ensure full compliance with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and agency-specific policies.
- Train junior staff on pension processing procedures and software systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or HR.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and federal retirement eligibility rules.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
