Responsibilities
- Calculate and review federal pension benefits (FERS/CSRS) for employees preparing for retirement.
- Provide one-on-one counseling to federal employees regarding their retirement eligibility and projected benefits.
- Analyze employment history and service records to ensure accurate pension calculations.
- Prepare and submit required documentation to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) or retirement systems.
- Assist with the administration of pension plan updates and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Communicate complex pension concepts to clients in a clear and accessible manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension calculations, or retirement planning.
- Familiarity with FERS, CSRS, and the Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to federal regulations.
- Must be available for at least 20 hours per week.
