Responsibilities
- Analyze federal retirement applications and pension calculations in strict compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of service records to determine eligibility for various pension plans, including FERS and CSRS.
- Provide expert consultation and guidance to federal employees regarding their retirement options, survivor benefits, and healthcare coverage.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal departments to resolve complex pension discrepancies and ensure audit readiness.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for federal audit trails and compliance reviews.
- Stay updated on changes in federal legislation and retirement policy to ensure accurate implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or actuarial science.
- Strong knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to obtain a favorable background investigation and suitable security clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clarity and precision.
