We are currently seeking a highly skilled Federal Pension Specialist to join our team in Ohio. This is an urgent hiring opportunity for a dedicated professional to manage federal retirement plans and ensure compliance with federal regulations.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for federal employees navigating their pension plans, ensuring accurate calculations and timely processing of claims.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension plans.
- Analyze employee service records to calculate accurate retirement benefits and annuity payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility and withdrawal options.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) guidelines.
- Process retirement applications, conduct benefit reviews, and resolve complex eligibility issues.
- Collaborate with HR departments to ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension planning, or human resources.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and federal retirement laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial calculations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
