Responsibilities
- Analyze and process complex federal pension applications, ensuring accurate calculation of annuities and survivor benefits.
- Conduct compliance audits of pension plans to adhere to FERS, CSRS, and OPM regulations.
- Provide expert consultation to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and pension options.
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex retirement disputes and policy interpretations.
- Update internal pension databases and documentation to reflect legislative changes in federal retirement law.
- Train junior staff on pension calculation methodologies and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal pension administration, retirement planning, or actuarial science.
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex federal regulations and apply them to specific scenarios.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for advising diverse employee populations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a government security clearance.
