Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension claims, applications, and inquiries for federal retirees, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Conduct detailed audits of pension records and retirement accounts to ensure strict compliance with ERISA and federal regulations.
- Assist retirees and agency staff with interpreting complex pension plans, including FERS and CSRS systems.
- Review and validate documentation for eligibility, resolving discrepancies and requesting additional information as needed.
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and data integrity within the department's database systems.
- Collaborate with the finance and HR teams to resolve payroll and benefit discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or a related financial role within the government or public sector.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and federal retirement systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulations.
- Must be available to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data analysis.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources is strongly preferred.
