In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for federal retirees and annuitants, ensuring accurate and timely processing of pension claims and benefits.
This position requires availability for weekend shifts to accommodate the high volume of inquiries during peak periods. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and CSRS, directly impacting the financial security of thousands of retirees.

Responsibilities
- Analyze complex pension eligibility requirements and documentation to determine correct benefit payments under FERS and CSRS.
- Provide exceptional customer service and direct counseling to federal retirees regarding pension calculations, survivor benefits, and medical insurance options.
- Process and adjudicate weekend claims and inquiries with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Verify the accuracy of data entry and ensure compliance with OPM regulations and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with the benefits team to resolve complex discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain detailed case files and records for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration, pension processing, or customer service within the federal or private sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-experts.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as required by the agency.
- Proficiency with government case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
