Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize federal veteran benefit programs across Alameda County
- Conduct eligibility assessments and case management for VA benefits
- Collaborate with community organizations to expand veteran outreach
- Analyze program performance metrics and recommend process improvements
- Prepare detailed reports for congressional stakeholders and VA leadership
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations and VA policies
- Train and mentor junior staff on program procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of federal program management experience
- VA-specific certification preferred (e.g., VBA, VHA)
- Proficiency with federal grant management systems (e.g., MAX)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Experience with veteran service organizations highly desirable
