Responsibilities
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and trends
- Develop and implement rapid-response protocols for public health emergencies
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for congressional briefings and agency leadership
- Coordinate with state/local health departments to ensure data consistency and compliance
- Leverage GIS mapping tools to visualize disease distribution and resource allocation
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize scientific findings for policy recommendations
- Maintain strict compliance with federal data security protocols (HIPAA, PII)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health data analysis or epidemiological research
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS) and database management
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal background clearance (Public Trust level)
- Experience with CDC-specific systems (e.g., Epi-X, NEDSS) is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical audiences
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license required
