Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of federal facility grounds to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, theft, or safety hazards.
- Monitor and control access points, verifying the credentials of all visitors and employees strictly.
- Respond immediately to alarms, fires, medical emergencies, and security breaches following established protocols.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and logs for all activities and observations.
- Maintain a high visibility presence to deter criminal activity and enforce facility rules.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and emergency services via radio or phone.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff and visitors regarding security procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive federal background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement is strongly preferred.
