Responsibilities
- Maintain and beautify public parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities on a daily basis.
- Assist in the setup, operation, and teardown of community events, festivals, and sports leagues.
- Perform groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, raking, trimming, weeding, and litter removal.
- Monitor park facilities for safety hazards, vandalism, and maintenance needs; report issues promptly.
- Engage with park visitors to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable recreational environment.
- Operate light maintenance equipment and hand tools in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist in the maintenance of athletic fields, including lining and preparation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping and park maintenance practices is a plus.
- Strong commitment to public service and community engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
