As a GIS Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing our geospatial infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting county-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update geographic information systems (GIS) databases and mapping applications using ArcGIS and other industry-standard software.
- Collect, verify, and analyze spatial and attribute data from various sources to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Create high-quality maps, charts, and reports for internal stakeholders and public presentations.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning departments to integrate GIS data into broader county projects.
- Provide technical support and training to county staff regarding GIS tools and data interpretation.
- Perform quality assurance checks on digital data layers to prevent errors in public records and planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, or database management.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
- Strong skills in SQL and relational database management (e.g., Microsoft Access, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
