Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data using industry-standard software such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Design, update, and maintain accurate maps and spatial databases for county projects.
- Conduct field surveys and GPS data collection to verify and enhance digital datasets.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to interpret spatial data for project planning.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with federal and state standards.
- Prepare technical reports and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in the implementation of new GIS technologies and software upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, and database management systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the county.
