Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of local, state, and federal policies to identify trends and implications for city operations.
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations for city management and elected officials.
- Coordinate inter-agency projects and manage stakeholder communications to ensure project milestones are met.
- Oversee the grant writing process, ensuring compliance with all funding agency requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor and interpret legislative changes, providing timely recommendations to department heads.
- Develop and maintain databases and tracking systems for government programs and performance metrics.
- Represent the department at community meetings and public hearings as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in government operations, policy analysis, or public sector administration.
- Strong knowledge of Texas state government structure and local government regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation for site visits.
