Responsibilities
- Administer pension enrollment, disbursement, and compliance for municipal employees
- Manage health insurance, dental, and vision benefit programs for 1,200+ personnel
- Process retirement applications and coordinate with OPERS representatives
- Conduct benefits orientations and quarterly compliance audits
- Maintain confidential employee records in HRIS systems
- Develop annual benefits packages aligned with municipal budget requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding retirement planning and welfare benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, HR, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in government benefits administration
- Certified Public Benefits Administrator (CPBA) designation required
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Oracle HCM)
- Knowledge of Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) regulations
- Experience with Section 125 and ERISA compliance protocols
- Exceptional communication skills for complex benefit explanations
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background clearance
