Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and hardware/software systems.
- Provide advanced technical support to city employees, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects and system upgrades.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventive maintenance to ensure operational continuity.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud computing platforms.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a government environment.
