Responsibilities
- Process and review incoming permits, applications, and documentation for compliance with city codes and regulations.
- Interact with citizens and contractors via phone, email, and in person to resolve inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital and physical records of all departmental activities.
- Assist senior staff with data entry, report generation, and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure the office and work areas are organized, clean, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor communication channels for urgent matters and escalate them to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, government operations, or customer service.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations to the public clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for site visits.
