As a key member of our benefits administration team, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of our retirement systems while serving the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage and calculate pension benefits for active members and retirees in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Process weekly payroll adjustments and pension contributions accurately and on time.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees, answering inquiries regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit payouts.
- Maintain up-to-date electronic records of all pension plans and member data.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with the California Government Code and ERISA requirements.
- Collaborate with actuarial firms and external auditors to report on pension fund health.
- Assist in the development of training materials for HR staff regarding pension changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or Human Resources is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in government benefits administration, payroll, or pension management.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA laws, CALPERS, and state pension regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and government-specific ERP systems.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a government security clearance.
