Responsibilities
- Monitor premises, access points, and surveillance systems to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure security protocols are followed
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas on foot and via vehicle, documenting observations and incidents
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, alarms, and security breaches following established procedures
- Write detailed incident reports, maintain security logs, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
- Operate security equipment including CCTV systems, access control panels, and communication devices
- Screen visitors and employees at entry points, verifying credentials and enforcing access policies
- Participate in emergency response drills and security training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or criminal justice training preferred
- Valid Ohio Security Guard license and ability to obtain required government clearances
- Minimum 1 year security experience or military/law enforcement background
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays consistently with reliable transportation
- Pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong observational skills with ability to recognize suspicious activities and respond appropriately
- Proficient in using security technology including surveillance systems and communication devices
