Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Discovery: Conduct comprehensive research to identify relevant federal, state, and private foundation funding opportunities aligned with our organizational mission.
- Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, including project narratives, budgets, and organizational background information.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with program directors and finance teams to gather necessary data and ensure accurate budgeting for each proposal.
- Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to funders on time, tracking milestones and outcomes to ensure continued funding eligibility.
- Database Management: Maintain accurate records of all applications, deadlines, and funding status using our grant management software.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, specifically within the non-profit or social services sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Writing Skills: Exceptional command of the English language; ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences (government agencies vs. private donors).
- Research Skills: Strong ability to locate and analyze funding sources and eligibility requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous proofreading and budgetary review skills to minimize errors.
- Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
