This role offers a hybrid/remote-friendly structure, allowing you to contribute to our mission from anywhere in the United States while maintaining a connection to our Philadelphia office.

In this pivotal role, you will identify funding opportunities, craft compelling narratives, and secure the resources necessary to support our diverse arts and humanities programs. You will serve as the primary voice for our mission, translating complex community needs and program impacts into winning proposals for foundations, corporations, and government agencies. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a talent for turning data into compelling stories, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify new grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations and corporations.
  • Develop and write high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, including executive summaries, narrative sections, and budget narratives.
  • Manage the full grant lifecycle, from prospecting and submission to grant administration, reporting, and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with program directors and external partners to gather data, define impact metrics, and craft outcomes-based narratives.
  • Maintain a master database of funding sources and track deadlines with precision to ensure no opportunity is missed.
  • Build and nurture relationships with funders and institutional partners through correspondence and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in grant writing, fundraising, or non-profit administration.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding from diverse sources (federal, state, private foundations).
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex funding guidelines and tailor proposals accordingly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant management software (e.g., Fluxx, Blackbaud) is a plus.
