Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and apply for federal, state, and private foundation grants aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop compelling grant proposals, budgets, and reports exceeding $1M in annual funding targets
- Cultivate relationships with program officers and funding partners
- Collaborate with department heads to gather program data and impact metrics
- Manage grant application pipeline and maintain compliance reporting
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices
- Stay current on funding trends and policy changes affecting nonprofits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years professional grant writing experience with $500K+ track record
- Proven success securing diverse funding streams (govt, corporate, foundation)
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with attention to detail
- Experience with grant databases (e.g., Instrumentl, Candid)
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and reporting
