Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit electronic health records (EHR) systems for accuracy and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, VA policies)
- Implement data integrity protocols and troubleshoot technical issues in health information systems
- Train medical staff on EHR best practices and documentation standards
- Coordinate with IT teams for system upgrades and security enhancements
- Generate reports for quality improvement initiatives and compliance audits
- Manage health information privacy protocols and access controls
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize data workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 2 years EHR system management experience (Epic Cerner preferred)
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and healthcare data standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Federal background investigation clearance eligibility
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
