Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road repairs, drainage systems, and utility installations
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders) with OSHA-certified precision
- Read and interpret blueprints, survey markers, and technical specifications
- Maintain safety compliance on active construction zones with PPE protocols
- Coordinate with engineers and contractors for project timeline adherence
- Perform preventative equipment maintenance and daily site inspections
- Document work progress and material usage via digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of public works or heavy civil construction experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Competence in operating heavy machinery (CAT, Komatsu, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Union membership preferred (Laborers Local 300/792)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic math skills for material calculations
